Question of the hour....

Why is it so hard to have a 10 year old girl????

Hump Day

So last night, I went to a women's study I have been participating in for the last several months. Although we break it up so we have only 6 week sessions. I love the group. I love the lesson. I hate the food. The food is my enemy. Because even though I have known the mentors (my own mother included) my entire life, they just can't seem to understand the fact that I am allergic to mushrooms.

So...last night I ate the casserole that was prepared because, stupidly, I thought there was no way that mushrooms would be in it...we just went through this 2 weeks ago when my own mother made something with mushrooms...well I was wrong. As I grew warmer and warmer throughout the lesson, and started getting itchy at the end, I happened to walk by a mentor and overheard her say....And then you add a can of cream of MUSHROOM soup to it!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!! (What in the hell is wrong with these people?!?!?!? I thought to myself)

So I yet again mention to my mom that BTW, can we please make sure mushrooms are not used in the cooking...and then I leave to go home. Except...I have to pull over on the way home to vomit and then proceed to continue with that all night. And have crazy dreams about tracking down the allergist from my childhood and making him tell everyone I know that I am allergic to certain foods.

Somewhat vindictively, I could tell my mom felt really bad when she had to bring me ginger ale and crackers, but after seeing me in full glory...I guarantee the food will become my friend...because I don't think she wants to have to rush me to the ER anytime soon.

Hopefully today won't be quite so entertaining.

Interesting Twist...

So I go blah blah blah this morning in my post about God's Plan, and so on, right? Well, then today I end up working with the owner of the boutique, and guess what kids...she's an Atheist. That's right...doesn't believe in God...used to, but not anymore.

This is going to be really, really interesting.

New Job

So this week, I started a new job. I've been lazing about for the last 2 1/2 months, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, when thanks to my good friend Jeanne, this opportunity arose. She got screwed in the process, which made it that much more difficult to say, "Yes, this is where I need to be right now", but she persevered and I started my new job. So...I am now running a women's boutique in Avondale about 2 minutes from home and my daughter's school, and I have the time to finish the course I have been taking to become a Medical Transcriptionist and I have a paycheck coming in. All thanks to Jeanne...who by the way now gets to go to Cambodia and teach children to speak English by utilizing the Bible. Talk about God's Plan. It's things like this happening that really make you realize that screwing with the Big Man's plan for you is futile and a waste of energy. He will put you where you need to be and where he wants you if you will just ask. Huh...only took me 31 years to really figure that out. Go Figure. So...HOLLA girlfriend...I owe you.

Here We Go...

Okay...so this is my new blog. One actually devoted to me. And my mental health. So, maybe, every once in a while I might rant about something....but hey...that's my rite. Besides, it's my blog. But for the most part, it will just be random ramblings that have been in my head that I just need to get out before it explodes. Plus, there will always be funny anecdotes from gabs...my 10 yr old (going on 30) daughter. Happy Reading~
